Junior Youth... are looking forward using the curriculum called:
Unmasking the End Times
by Kathy Giesbrecht
What is Revelation telling us? What do you need to know? This unit helps youth understand apocalyptic imagery and end-time speculation. Offering youth a vision of the future based on God's Word, this five-session study invites them to place their hope in the living God.
High School age youth are looking at:
Adventures with the Anabaptists
by Jeanne Grieser and Carol Duerksen
Ten active sessions, adaptable to junior or senior high, introduce youth to the major personalities, events, and issues of the Anabaptist movement in Europe in the 16th century. Each session has a Bible study component and teaches youth through storytelling, role-play, and discussion that connects the issues to their own lives in the 21st Century. The debate over infant baptism opens up the question of what it means to own a mature faith. The martyr stories challenge youth to a discipleship that counts the cost of remaining true to one's convictions and commitment to Christ. This study grounds Mennonite youth in the roots of their faith tradition in a fun, accessible, and relevant way.
The adult group is currently focusing on Mennonite History using a guide book titled:
"From Anabaptist Seed - The Historical Core of Anabaptist-Related Identity"
by C.Arnold Snyder.
Lively discussion of the history of our faith happens in the corner of the chapel at 9:30 AM Sunday mornings.
